Let me ruin Valentine's Day by posting this heartbreaking Sherlock fanvid.

It's based on Alone On the Water by MadLori, a fic in which Sherlock gets sick and dies. The fic is almost one year old, but I had never heard of it until last week. The few snippets I've read on Tumblr made me tear up so when someone posted the vid I was wary. I waited 24 hours before giving in and watching it.

It made me cry, you guys.

I wasn't going to read the fic because I tend to avoid this type of story (thinking about Yellow Means Slow still makes me sad) but now I know that I can never, ever, read it because it will kill me. (Watch out for the inevitable "OMG I read it and now I want to die" update later this week.)

Anyway, sorry for ruining your day. I'll try to make it up to you later today.

That's a lovely vid. I read the fic quite some time ago, cried like a baby. Read it again, cried again. Read it a third time thinking I'd be immune, and cried some more.

There may be times where you really need to have a cry, but can't come up with the tears on your own. You might want to save the story until then. There's a couple of stories and vids that are my 'go tos' when I need the release and this is one of them.

I read it an hour after posting about it and, unsurprisingly, I cried a lot.

I used to reread Yellow Means Slow when I needed a cry, but I haven't done it in a while. Now I prefer to watch sad movies or tv episodes. However, I think this vid will do the job the next time I need to cry my eyes out.

I know, it's so good! (and incredibly sad)

So I know I'm a lost cause because I read your sentence 'a fic in which Sherlock gets sick and dies' and I started tearing up. I want to read it but stuff like that kills me inside. I cry easily, fair enough, but something about these two just make me need to know they'll have a happily ever after. I might have a problem ;)

I read it an hour after I posted about it and I cried my eyes out. I think I know how you feel about these two. I avoid everything that has one of them dying (for real ;) ) and even the ones where they're old and retired because I can't think about their lives ending soon.
