I guess this is going to be a thing now? I don't know, I just have a lot of feelings about Sherlock that I need to share in rec form. I read very few fics last year, so some of the recs are a bit old but I separated them so that you didn't have to go through things you read ages ago.

Fics written after season two:

Upon This Throne by ifonlynotnever **
Inside his mind is a Palace. Inside the Palace are many rooms. Within the largest room is the Throne. Upon the Throne sits the King.

[Stunning fic with gorgeous imagery.]

Looking by VoteSaxon
“Can I come along?”
The question was so strange that he stumbled for a moment. Somehow, she always managed to make him forget she wasn’t ordinary. And then, when he least expected it, the subtle tripwire. What on Earth did she mean by that? Of course she couldn’t come along.

[Post-Reichenbach, Irene visits Sherlock's mind palace]

Contingency Plan by Aubkae **
After everything is over, there's this: seventeen steps, and a door. He's planned this, endlessly, examined every contingency. In his head the first part always goes right. It's just walking up some stairs.

[Post-Reichenbach, Sherlock just before the reunion]

Stand Alone Among the Wreck by giddyweek
John feels like he's failing them. He hides money in places he thinks they'll find it, when he doesn't see them, and leaves bags of food around too. Nothing ever remains when he checks back but that doesn't mean much; still, he tries as hard as he can.

[Post-Reichenbach, John tries to take care of the homeless network]

Reignite by Augustbird **
Kinkmeme prompt: John and Mary have a son, Hamish, then Mary gets ill and dies. John, who wasn't previously on speaking terms with Sherlock, moves back to Baker Street with Hamish in tow because he can't afford anywhere else on his own. Sherlock is surprisingly wonderful with the kid, and supportive of John (in his own, asshole-ish way). Reconciliation, and formation of a makeshift family unit once more in 221B, please?

[I usually avoid kidfics because they're not my thing, but I loved this one. It's angsty but also sweet.]

Death Is At Your Doorstep by Ayries
Molly is much more scared of Sherlock alive in her living room than she would have been if he had actually died, in the end.

[Post-Reichenbach, Gen]

The Grand Tour of Europe by falling_voices
In the afternoon of May 20th, 2015, Sherlock Holmes starts down the steps of the British Museum and walks neatly into the arms of a dead man.
, based off of the ACD!canon storyline — no spoilers for S2.

The Sensation of Falling Just As You Hit Sleep by greywash
[I recced it in a previous post but it is now finished.]

Older fics:

Traffic Lights For the Colorblind by Lavvyan (and sequel: The Sky for the Reaching)
In which it's not the war John is missing, Sherlock needs to find new ways to hang on to his flatmate, and Moriarty tries to get himself a pet of his own. Features also: guns, tea, the reason Sherlock Holmes won't take the tube, cell phones, a budgie, and one obnoxious older brother.

Continuity by Lavvyan **
The skull has disappeared from the mantel. So has the knife. All the dishes are clean.
Sherlock thinks John would like the changes he's made, if he were around to see them.

[John moved in with Sarah and Sherlock is pining. Sherlock/John]

Two Points by Speranza
"Look," Sherlock began again, "you keep saving my life. And touching me," and hm, that wasn’t as conclusive as it had seemed in his head.

Lead Me to the Truth by Lavellington
John didn’t mind following two steps behind: two steps behind Sherlock was still miles ahead of everyone else.

Subliminal by Speranza
[Short case fic with an interesting way of showing how Sherlock deduces things.]

26 Pieces by Lanning
Mycroft gives Sherlock the apparently simple task of solving a puzzle box containing a stolen microchip. It isn't simple.

The Art of Flat-Sharing by out_there
Everybody likes John Watson. He's down-to-earth and unassuming, and standing next to Sherlock, well... It's no wonder everyone assumes Sherlock's the horrific flatmate.
It's as irritating as any false assumption. Sherlock may be difficult at times, but John is hardly the flat-sharing ideal.

The Whore of Babylon Was A Perfectly Nice Girl by out_there **
Sherlock walks into a room and takes all the space right out of it. He does the same inside John's head.

We Are Lonely Souls by dashar 1993
[Gorgeous Sherlock/Luther crossover] **

The Final Solution by Nyah86production
[Short vid about Molly, Sherlock and Mycroft. Could be a scene from the Reichenbach episode.] **

Are You Watching Closely by Liisake
[Reichenbach vid inspired by this graphic]

Forevermore (don't go without me) by snarkyways
[Sherlock & John, I like the coloring, it adds a softness to the vid]

His Room Is Cold Now by KatrinDepp **
[John, post-Reichenbach]

You're Something Like a Phenomena by Lozzeh13
[Sherlock being a BAMF while looking cool.]

Sentiment by Nyah86production
[Lovely Sherlock/Irene vid]

What might we deduce about his heart by ThePteryx **
Sherlock is such a difficult character. One minute you think he's not human, the next you think he's the most human.

Waited Long Enough by LadySteena
[It's a post-Reichenbach reunion vid guys! And it's perfect! The only thing that bugged me is that Sherlock's text are signed S instead of SH, but it's such a small detail.] *******************
